Job Description:

Accretive Health is seeking a Clinical Documentation Improvement Specialist for the overall responsibility for facilitating documentation of the medical record to achieve accurate inpatient coding and DRG assignment with our client executives and maintain client support.

• Manage client CDI projects in all capacities as needed.
• Assist in developing work plans and coordinating daily fieldwork and project team activities.
• Participate in practice management which tools, methodologies, recruiting and personnel development.
• Effectively coach, direct, motivate and evaluate associates.

Requirements:

• Minimum of five (5) years direct clinical nursing experience required
• Minimum of five (5) years experience in healthcare consulting (preferred) and/or healthcare provider revenue operations setting with experience
• Professional certification in Medical Coding preferred
• Strong interpersonal, communication (verbal, non-verbal, and listening skills)
• Experience in developing and presenting education programs
• Competent computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation software
• Ability to make the following minimum travel commitment: Monday-Thursday on site at a client location and Friday home office (Or Chicago office as needed)
• Preferably based out of Chicago, Detroit, Los Angeles, or Minneapolis
